About the Department

           With the foundation of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Sociology UG Course has been started. On the passage of time college has established PG course of sociology since the department of sociology working as per its excellence. In present six faculty are working in department out of these two Professor and three assistant professor in the department of sociology. The department of sociology having its Head of the department history following eminent personalities as Mr. J.P. Karwa 1965-1998, Dr N.V.Gaikwad 1998-2000, Mr. G.D. Choudhary 2000-2001, Mr. D.P. Department having Number of published books and Research papers which are as Basic concepts in Sociology authored by J.P. Karwa, Basic social Institution, Industrial Sociology and Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule by Mr. D.P.Bedade, Right to Information Act by Dr. B.R.Bhosle. Faculties of the department has been showing their keen interest in publishing research papers approximately 65 National & International level Published Research Papers is a repository of the department. Along with this teaching faculties have been attended and participated in more than 100 symposium, seminar, conference, workshop and educational meets. Dr. B.M. Kamble & Dr. B.R.Bhosle are working as research supervisor.They are guiding each six research scholar on Ph.D. More than 30 candidates have qualified NET/SET/JRF exams. Department has a smart class rooms & more than 10 students have achieved University rank position. Department of sociology has organised Wall Paper presentation on "Demonetization it's Problems and its Benefits" This program was inaugurated by Dr. Indrajeet Bhalerao, DSM college, Parbhani. This program was attended by professors, assistant professor and students. The department of sociology has organised an educational tour M.A. Second Year students were participated in this educational tour. This educational tour approached to Chakur, district Latur.The department of sociology has organised Wall Paper Presentation. The main theme of this program was what is GST? Wall paper presentation program have been inaugurated by D. P. Savant, (Secretary of Sharda Bhavan Education Society, Nanded). This program was attended by professors, associate professors, assistant professors and students. Sociology department has organised a guest lecture (2019) Guest lecture subject was the Essentiality of Sociology: Need of the age. Department of Sociology has introduced its keen interest for MA 1st year students. This view has lead to organised a Welcome Program in 2018Sociology department having versatile faculties as the part of this kind of personality Professor, B.M Kamble is a recipient of National Award that is Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms Bengaluru, 2018. Department has organised a guest lecture on New Approaches in the Social Science Research. The guest lecturer was Dr. B. Jadhav Associate Professor, School of Social Sciences SRTMU, Nanded. Sociological study board have been inaugurated by C. T. KAMBLE Ex. vice Principal and Head of the Department of Sociology, P. N. College, Nanded. He has addressed session regarding sociological study board and its importance.Sociology department has organised wallpaper presentation on the birth anniversary of Late Dr. Shankarrao Chavan. This Wallpaper presentation was inaugurated by Dr. G. N. Shinde Principal Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded. This program was attended by professors, assistant professor and students. The department has organised Essay writing competition, Rangoli competition, Speech Competition, Guest lectures, Poem, Reading and Research Paper Presentation. Sociology department is always organising its alumni meet in the year 2020. The department has organised alumni Meet. This program was attended by the professors, assistant aluminise and students.In 2020, the department of sociology has organised a workshop on BA IInd year's New Syllabus. This workshop was chaired by Dr G. N. Shinde, Principal, Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded. Board of Studies President, Dr. N. T. Kamble and all BoS Members were present for this workshop. This workshop was attended by the principal, professors, associate professor and assistant professors. In 2021, the Department of Sociology has organised an Induction Program of MA First Year students to introduce them aim of the course and the importance of study. In this way the Head of the Department, Dr B.M Kamble and Dr. B.R. Bhosle have organised the Induction Program which was online. The resource person was Dr. Baburao Jadhav, School of Social Sciences, SRTMU, Nanded.The department of sociology, in year 2021, has organised a wallpaper presentation program. Wall Paper presentation have inaugurated by Dr G. N. Shinde, Principal, Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded and Dr Sarika Lohana. On this occasion all the staff members of the department where present and students also present. In 2022, the department of sociology has organised an Induction Program for MA 1st year students. The Induction Program was aimed in to introduce the course and the importance of the study, specifically, resource person Dr B. S. Jadhav, School of Social Sciences, SRTMU Nanded has talked on Philosophical roots of Sociology. This program was online (Cisco WebEx), likewise Dr. B. S. Jadhav has inaugurated a Sociological Study Board, Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya Nanded. The department of sociology has organised one day National Webinar on Research Methodology. The resource persons were Dr. Prabhakar Dev and Dr. Pushpesh Kumar, Professor, University of Hyderabad. This National Webinar was held by IQAC and PG Department of Sociology and Commerce.
