​In Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded the Department of Political Science was started in June 1963. The incumbency of this department are Mr. N.Y. Kale, Dr. R.D. Sable who had contributed lot. Dr.R.D. Sable wrote several books in Marathi, based on syllabus for the students. He had wrote several books on Indian Govt. and Politics, Indian Foreign Policy, International Relation, Indian and Western Political Thinkers, and seven research papers have also been published by him. His Ph.D. topic is 'SECULARISM AND POLITICAL PARTIES, IN INDIA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE CONGRESS (I) AND BJP.
                   In August 1998 Dr..A.V. Gavane joined as Lecturer in the department. He had become Head of the Department in 1st November 2000. He has passed SET Examination in Dec. 1998. He has got M.Phil. Degree in 2002 from Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University, Amravati. The M. Phil. topic is "An Analytical Study of Social and Political Thoughts of Shatu Maharaj". He was completed his Ph.D. research work in 2011. His Ph.D. research topic was “ Responsible Government & Question Hour: An Analytical Study of Ninth Vidhansabha Of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly”. Till He is working as Head Of Department & Professor.Dr. A.V. Gavane had attended, presented research papers & also done role of resours person in International, National, State level Conferences, Seminors And Workshop. He had delivered several speeches on social, political and educational awareness and motivated the people for social change. By the medium of National Service Scheme his spread the purpose of National Integration.
                      Beside him in the Department of Political Science Dr. Kavita G. Sonkamble had joined this college on 23rd January 2001. She had also paid her contribution on several occasion on International, National, and State level had also published research papers during this period. She was awarded "VIRANGANA SAVITRI BAI PHULE FELLOWSHIP" by Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, New Delhi. During 12th December 2002 to 20th December 2002 Common Wealth Parliamentary Board was selected her for educational study. She was also qualified for NET Examination. She is also interested to social work, Social Integration, Literacy. Girl's Education, Women Rights and in several things.
                       Dr. K.G. Sonkamble was awarded Ph.D. degree. Her Ph.D. topic is "THE ROLE OF COMMUNICATION MEDIA IN INFLUENCE POLITICAL IDEOLOGY". Till she is working as Professor.
Dr.V.G. Swami was join as Asst. prof. in this college on 23 January 2008. He was complected his Ph.D. research work on 10 July 2021. His Ph.D. research topic is “The Conclusion Of Mahatma Gandhiji’s Work In South Africa: A Political Study”. Till he is working as Associate Professor. He was attended, presented research papers & done role of resource person in National, State & regional level several conferences, seminars, workshops. He is working as Chairman of Internal committee & Equal opportunity Cell.
                                All these lecturers help the students to make a perfect being with their teachings. Lecturers in Political Department used other methods like Guest Lecturer, Seminars, Debate, Group Discussions, Quiz. In today's position political picture of the world changes fastly. In these circumstances student's must know the political knowledge. They must be aware about political situation. So in the educational system the subject of political science is very important. For competitive examinations political science is the important subject. Every student must know their constitutional rights and duties and to live political life happily. So students take the subject. The importance of political science is to get achievements in politics, to become professionalist, like lawyer and to give contribution to educational field, so the students take the subject political science We takes seminars, foundation of political science study forum, elections in the class rooms, group discussions, to make the subject interestingly.
                      The lecturers in political science delivered speeches and tell thoughts about national leader. The students of political science gives MPSC, UPSC and other competative examinations and take the admission in professional courses like LLB. LLM and the students give their contribution in administrative and educational field.Department is running one Value Added Course named Human Rights from Academic Year 2019-2020.
