 Along with academic development, Yeshwant College has successfully maintained the complementary activities of students’ personality development. The college has started technological courses to deal with globalization and has successfully leapt towards the twenty-first century.At the same time, this college has opened various fields like arts, commerce, science, technology, sports, etc. For the students.Since 1968, the college has made an important contribution to the great work of cultivating and growing Indian classical music by including the subject of music in the curriculum.
   Sangeet Maharshi Dr. Annasaheb Gunjkar used to teach music to students.After that, from 1972, the movement of music subject started with the approval of the government. At this time, Surmani Pt. Was the first professor of music. Shyam Gunjkar was appointed.From 1969 to 2003, Surmani Pt Shyam Gunjkar served as the head of the music department. Due to his fluent and artistic teaching method, many artists have emerged from the music department. Late Dr. When Shankarao Chavan Saheb was the Home Minister of India, Pt. Under the guidance of Shyam Gunjkar, Maharashtra Darshan, a program of songs, was presented in Delhi. Pandit shyam Gunjkar is known to all of Maharashtra due to his singing artistry, melodiousness and high pitched voice. Since 2003 as the Head of Music Department Prof.Mrs. Sangeeta Kulkarni (Chati) played the role.That musical alankar M. A. Sangeet Net, degree holder is known all over Maharashtra as one of the finest singers of Indian classical music.Due to his love for Indian classical music and his innovative singing, the famous singer of Mewati Gharana, the founder of Indian classical music, Pt. Jasrajji in 2010 Prof. Mrs. By Sangeeta Kulkarni (Chati).He started Sangeet Sabha in the Music Department. She has recorded 2 CD’s “Sai bawani” and “vande vishwaguru”. She is Editorial Member of khayal Quarterly. Since 2006 as a lecturer and head of music department, Prof. Dr. Shivdas V. Shinde became established. He is an M.A. Music, NET, Ph. D. Are graduated. He is also an academic research student of the music department.Under his guidance, 09 students cleared the NET exam of music subject. He was awarded “Vidyabhushan in 2007-2008, “GramRatna” in 2009-2010 and Sangeet Ratna in 2021-2” by Indian Net Set Association in 2006.
   Inter-University, West Zone, Indradhanushya state level national level youth festival and singing and playing competitions held at various levels by students of music department in various art forms.In the 14th, 15th, 17th convocation of Swami Ramanand Tirtha Marathwada University, Prof. of Music Department. Dr. S. V. Shinde and the students participated by singing the university anthem.
   2010 at Pune in the event recorded in the world record book ‘Antarnad’, Prof. Of the Department of Music. Dr. S. V. Shinde and Professor Mrs. Sangeeta Chati and students with special skills.The program ‘Equality of Women and Men’ by “Jagar Janiwancha” was presented. This program won the district level university level and state level first award.As a member of the committee established for the presentation of this program, Prof. Dr. S. V. Shinde and Professor Ms. Sangeeta Chati observed the work. In the academic year 2021- 2022, due to planning of GaneshChandra shinde 121 students have been admitted to BA 1,2,3rd year in music department. And 50 students have been admitted to music skill.
