About Boys Hostel

Shri Sharda Bhavan Education Society’s Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded is established on June 15, 1963. The Ex-Home minister of India and Ex-Chief minister of Maharashtra Late Dr. Shankarraoji Bhaurao Chavan is the founder President of this society. Presently Honourable Ashokraoji Chavan, Ex Chief Minister of Maharashtra is the President of this society.
“Education is Enlightenment” is the mission of the institute. 'To dispel the darkness from the lives of poor ', is the motto of this society. Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya is the premier institution of higher learning in Marathwada region. Thousands of Alumni of this college are working in various fields like Medical, Judiciary, Education, Engineering, Agricultural, Political, Social, National and International institutes etc. In 2002-2003 college has established the Alumni Association of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Nanded. Since then, many programmes and events were continuously organised by the Alumni of the college.
We all know that 'college is a medium that strengthens the foundation of all-round development and through it generations of citizens with character are created. Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya has been faithfully carrying out this work construction for the last six decades. Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya is one of the important colleges in Marathwada offering quality education in all the three disciplines, namely, Arts, Commerce and Science. It offers 07 Undergraduate and 18 Postgraduate courses and Ph.D. in 21 subjects with 21 Research Centres. The college has a magnificent campus which can accommodate about 9000 students at a time.
The hostel is a 'Second Home' for students from economically disadvantaged regions like Marathwada. Children from hard working communities like peasants, farmers, labourers, come to cities like Nanded with the dream of getting higher education; but due to financial constraints, their parents have to face endless difficulties while keeping their children in the city for education. In this case, the college dormitory gives them a major support.
The hostel of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya was constructed in 1970 in the college campus. It was spread in near about five ekars area.It contains seventy hostel room s with two students in each room with other facilities for the poor and needy students in this area.
The hostel of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya has faithfully worked for many years to provide ‘Entitled Shelter’ to thousands of students in rural areas. But due to dilapidation, the hostel has been demolished, which is a great inconvenience to students in rural areas.
Specially, since the Corona pandemic has caused many students to lose their parents in that two years, it has become very important to provide them with financial and psychological support.
As the University Grants Commission has stopped providing funds for the construction of college’s hostels, it has become necessary to rebuild it through public participation.
Considering this fact, Heramb Kulkarni (Finland), a senior education expert at the Alumni Meet held on July 25, 2021, described the role of alumni in the process of higher education and appealed to the alumni to come forward.Responding to this call, the alumni undertook the task of 'raising funds' to rebuild the hostel to alleviate the inconvenience of the students. And it has received a spontaneous response in a short period of time and many alumni are voluntarily and happily coming forward for financial contributions and making significant contributions to the bank account of the alumni association.
Here we have an opportunity to raise funds for the construction of ‘Hostel’ for Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, which has shaped the lives of many and is looking to be valuable in shaping the lives of more in the future.
Efforts have been initiated to construct a new Hostel Building of 'Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya' through public participation, which combines a bright tradition and a bright future.     Your sensitive response is needed!
Hundreds of hands have voluntarily stepped forward to bear the brunt of the hostel's renovation, and we are confident that the next ideal of philanthropy will continue to stand before the society through the constructive work-
“Suffering the sorrows of others, rejoicing in contentment.”
